Mark Damon has been a pivotal figure in fall protection and training since 1975, accumulating over 40 years of invaluable experience. Trained by Clarence Rose, a true pioneer in the industry, Mark played a crucial role on the OSHA Committee revised fall protection standards and collaborated with the United States Navy to establish their fall protection guidelines. His expertise extends to serving on the ANSI A10.24 subcommittee and teaching at OSHA training institute. Additionally, Mark has instructed OSHA 500 and 501 courses and produced a bestselling fall protection training DVD, "How Safe Is That Safety Belt?", an updated version released in 2015.

Fall Protection Training

Per ANSI Z359.2-2017 5.1.3.2 – Retraining must be completed every 2 years.

All courses comply with OSHA 1926.503, 1910.30 and ANSI Z359.2

Authorized User

OSHA 1910.30 (a)(1)Before any employee is exposed to a fall hazard, the employer must provide training for  each employee who usespersonal fall protection systems. This class will provide training necessary to meet  the requirements of OSHA for users of equipment andmeet the ANSI requirements to certify employees as  Authorized Users . In addition to attending this class, the employee must meet with theirCompetent Person  who will provide additional training in accordance with the OSHA standards outlined in 1926.503. The  student whosuccessfully completes the course and pass the written test will receive an Authorized User  Certificate.

Competent Person Refresher

In accordance with ANSI Z359.2 Competent Person training must be renewed every two years. Available to  any participant who has alreadycompleted Competent Person certification is this recertification class.

Please send documentation on your previous Competent Person certification. Students who successfully  complete the course and passthe written test will receive their renewal Competent Person Certificate.

Confined Space

Class designed to assist in compliance with OSHA 1910.146.  The course will discuss permit versus non-permit confined spaces, alternate entry procedures, and the various types of personal protective equipment necessary to conduct an effective confined space entry.  PPE will be provided by the customer.  Approximate time: 4-6 hours.

Competent Person 

OSHA1926.503(a)(2) The employer shall assure that each employee has been trained, as necessary, by a  competent person qualified in the correct procedures in their department for erecting, maintaining,  disassembling, and inspecting the fall protection systems to be used; the useand operation of guardrail  systems, personal fall arrest systems, safety net systems, warning line systems, safety monitoring systems,  controlled access zones, and other protection to be used;1926.503(a)(2)(vi) the correct procedures for the  handling and storage of equipmentand materials and the erection of overhead protection; and  1926.503(a)(2)(vii) the role of employees in fall protection plans. This class is designed for anyone assigned the  responsibility for the fall protection program in their area. The person serving as the competent person must  complete the two-day class that meets or exceeds the requirements of OSHA and ANSI. Students who  successfully complete the course andpass the written test will receive a Competent Person Certificate.

Competent Equipment Inspector

The course is designated for individuals responsible for inspection of fall protection equipment. Successful  completion of this course will giveyou the qualifications to properly inspect fall protection equipment and  learn how to properly document inspections to comply with OSHA.Students who successfully complete the  course and pass the written test will receive a Competent Equipment Inspector Certificate.
